Let's Get Started!
This week, you’ll make three simple nine patch units that will be used later in the Haven quilt border. These blocks are intentionally straightforward and repetitive—ideal for warming up your sewing and easing back into the project.
You may make all units now or create them gradually and use them as leaders and enders while sewing other blocks.
Units to Make
- Corner Nine Patch – 4 blocks
- Edge Nine Patch – 8 blocks
- Mini Nine Patch – 12 blocks
All units are constructed the same way; only fabric placement and size differ.
Construction Method - All Nine Patches
- Arrange three squares per row.
- Sew each row together.
- Sew the three rows together, nesting seams.
- Press to complete the unit.
Accuracy and consistent seam allowances are more important than speed.

Notes
- Construction is identical for both Forest Lake and Painted Desert colorways.
- You may complete all nine patches now or set them aside as leaders and enders.
- Keep one finished sample of each unit on your design wall for reference.
Kits available from Vintage Pink & Green (in store or online).
Happy sewing!
